The COVID pandemic has brought in multiple challenges with serious implications on lives and livelihood, businesses, and the economy across the country. Given the magnitude of the crisis, the healthcare sector has been under immense pressure to address the shortage of trained staff to deliver appropriate healthcare to its citizens. In order to meet the demand for skilled healthcare workers and reduce the burden of healthcare professionals and provide timely healthcare services to the citizens, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship had introduced 'Customized Crash Course Programme for COVID Frontline Workers' under the central component of PMKVY 3.0. The training programme is imparted in job role- Basic Care Support and Emergency Care Support under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)specifically keeping in mind the COVID-19 related challenges and to enable a robust response mechanism to COVID19-related exigency. The training programme has helped the youth with skill training, certification, and opportunity for wage employment.
