In order to increase the efficiency and productivity level, and to bridge the current knowledge to enhance the income of the labour workers, a well-designed Skill training program was initiated by Assam Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Labour Welfare Department, Government of Assam. Under this program unskilled and semi-skilled members of Assam Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Department of Labour Welfare, Govt. of Assam are trained in 5 trades i.e. Painter, Carpenter, Mason, Electrician and Plumber for a period of 60 days. The trainees are offered a stipend of Rs. 280/- per day for undergoing the training. Till date, we have trained 19481 nos of beneficiaries under this program and as part of the practical component for the trainees, they have refurnished/constructed 11 schools in the vicinity of our training centers.
